Avocado Chocolate Mousse
Creamy, decadent mousse made with ripe avocados and rich cocoa—dairy-free, butter-free, and perfect for a healthy dessert.
Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados, peeled and pitted
- 1/2 cup (50g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/3 cup (80ml) maple syrup or honey (use maple syrup for vegan)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
- 2–4 tablespoons non-dairy milk (optional, for thinner consistency)
Instructions

Prepare Avocados:
Scoop flesh from avocados into a blender or food processor. -
Add Flavourings:
Add cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt. -
Blend Until Smooth:
Process on high speed until mixture is creamy. If too thick, add non-dairy milk one tablespoon at a time until desired consistency. -
Chill:
Transfer mousse to serving bowls or ramekins. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to set. -
Serve:
Garnish with fresh berries, chopped nuts, or a dollop of coconut cream before serving.
Tips
- For a deeper chocolate flavor, whisk in a pinch of espresso powder.
- Swap maple syrup for agave or date syrup for different sweetness profiles.
- Mousse keeps in the fridge for up to 3 days in an airtight container.
